Everything you wanted to ask but didn't.
Honest answers about the Many Lives Collection, the 22-portrait set, the hardcover book, the wall calendar, and the digital pack. Including the questions that feel too small to ask.
About the Collection
It is a set of 22 original portraits of your pet across every era of history. A pirate captain at sea. A samurai before dawn. A Renaissance duke in his study. A Tang Dynasty poet at a writing desk. A manuscript monk illuminating by candlelight. One beloved face, twenty-two lives.
We study your uploaded photos in detail, the markings, the colouring, the expression they make when they think you can't see them, and use that information to generate portraits so faithful they're unmistakably your pet, no matter which century they've landed in.
You can keep the collection close in whichever form feels right: a hardcover keepsake book, a 12-month wall calendar, a pack of greeting cards, or a high-resolution digital library. Every product is drawn from the same gallery of portraits.
22 original portraits. Each one places your pet in a different era of history, photographed (so to speak) at the height of the period: pirate, samurai, royal falconer, jazz-age singer, Edwardian, Tudor, Egyptian priest, Babylonian astronomer, Mucha muse, and more.
The hardcover book is a 30-page keepsake that gathers all 22. The wall calendar features 12 hand-picked portraits, one per month. The greeting card pack lets you pick a favourite portrait (or several). And the digital pack ships all 22 portraits as high-resolution files.
Five products today, every one drawn from the same gallery of portraits of your pet:
- Hardcover Book, $52.99, 30-page premium hardcover keepsake. Lay-flat binding, designed for the coffee table. All 22 portraits.
- Wall Calendar, $44.99, 12-month wire-O wall calendar. Twelve portraits, one per month.
- Pack of 10 Greeting Cards, $29.99, folded cards with envelopes, printed in your chosen scene. Send one portrait, ten times over, or pick a different scene for each.

Your Photos
This is the question we get asked most. The answer is: please send us the terrible ones.
A blurry photo of your dog mid-sneeze tells us more about their face than a carefully staged portrait ever could. The badly-lit one from the sofa at 11pm tells us how they hold their head when they're relaxed. The one with your thumb in the corner still contains them.
Blurry enthusiasm beats crisp blandness every single time. Professional pet photography gives you technically perfect images of an animal performing for a stranger. Your terrible photos give us the actual creature. We'll take your creature over a performance.
The only photos that don't help are ones where we genuinely cannot identify the animal, extreme motion blur, heavily backlit, or photos primarily of the back of their head. Even then, variety helps.
Between 2 and 5 photos. A small set, but chosen well, beats a large set chosen quickly.
What we're looking for is variety in angle and expression. Two excellent photos that show their face clearly, one looking straight at the camera, one looking slightly away, will serve us better than five nearly identical shots taken in the same afternoon.
If you have a favourite photo, the one that most captures them, always include that. Our aim is to make every portrait feel like you took it on the best day you ever had with them.
Old photos are welcome. Scanned photographs, screenshots from old videos, images saved at lower resolutions, we work with what you have.
Years after a pet is gone, a single decent photo is often all that remains. That is enough. We ask only that we can see their face and some detail of their colouring and markings. The older the photo, the more we appreciate the trust placed in us to get it right.
Your photos are used solely to generate your pet's portraits. They are stored securely and are not shared, sold, or used for any other purpose. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
We understand that pet photos, particularly of pets who have passed, are irreplaceable. We treat them accordingly.
The Portraits
The honest answer is that we lean as far into photorealism as the medium allows. We're not interested in a stylised approximation of your pet, a cartoon, a watercolour, a "something kind of like them." Every portrait is rendered with the fidelity of a high-end photograph: the marbling in the eye, the exact pattern of whisker markings, the specific cant of one ear that sits slightly different from the other, the underbite, the grey at the muzzle.
The most common reaction we hear is some variant of "I had to look twice — it's like you photographed them in a place I've never been." Customers regularly describe portraits as "uncannily accurate" and, more than occasionally, "more like them than any photo I've ever taken of them."
This is what distinguishes us from services that paste your pet's face onto a generic template. We don't apply a template to your pet. We render your pet, specifically, in photographic detail, then place them in the scene.
The preview is the work, you see exactly what we made and decide whether to pay. If you do pay and a specific portrait still isn't getting them right, contact us and we'll re-render it. Likeness is the standard for paying customers.
22 hand-picked lives across history. A pirate captain at sea. A samurai before dawn. A Renaissance duke in his study. A Tang Dynasty poet at a writing desk. A manuscript monk illuminating by candlelight. An Egyptian priest. A Babylonian astronomer. A Tudor courtier. A jazz-age singer. A pulp-adventure hero. A medieval alchemist. And eleven more.
Each scene is set with the dignity the era deserves, not a costume drama, not a cartoon, but the period rendered like an oil painting commissioned by someone who genuinely loved the sitter.
The aim is not to put your pet somewhere ridiculous. It's to imagine the lives they could have lived, rendered so faithfully that the first time you see your dog as a Renaissance duke you'll need a moment.
They are AI-generated portraits. An advanced image model studies the photos you upload, learns your pet's specific markings, colouring, face shape, and expression, then renders them into each scene with photographic fidelity. No camera was present, no costume was fitted, no painter sat at an easel. But there's also no template: every portrait is generated from your particular animal, not a stock stand-in.
This isn't the cartoon, watercolour, or stylised "pet art" that other services produce. The samurai is your samurai. The pirate is your pirate. The Egyptian priest is your priest, down to the asymmetry in the ears and the exact pattern around the eyes.
We're honest about the technology because the result speaks for itself. Most customers describe the experience of opening their preview as "a photograph from a life I didn't know they'd lived." We consider that the right reaction.
No, we don't do custom portraits. The set of 22 scenes is fixed, curated over many projects to show every pet at their most striking across the widest sweep of history. We don't generate new eras, alternative settings, or one-off "what if you put them in X" scenes on request.
What we will happily do is reprint a portrait you love from the standard set as a one-off framed piece in any size. Reach out with the portrait and size you want and we'll send a quote.
The Process
Step 1 - Upload your photos. Visit our upload page, add your pet's name, and upload 2-5 photos. This takes less than five minutes. Any quality of photo is fine.
Step 2 - We generate your preview. Within minutes, we've studied your photos and produced all 22 portraits across history. You'll receive a link to view your preview. This is free. There is no charge, no credit card required.
Step 3 - You decide. If you love your preview, you choose how to keep the collection: hardcover book, wall calendar, pack of greeting cards, digital pack of 22 portraits, or any combination. If you don't love it, you don't pay, and you don't owe us anything.
Step 4 - Delivery. Digital downloads are available within minutes of payment. Physical products (hardcover, calendar, greeting cards) print and ship in 2-3 weeks worldwide.
Within minutes, typically. Portrait generation, layout, and preview preparation happen automatically once your photos are uploaded. You'll receive a notification when your preview is ready to view.
During busy periods it may take a little longer, but the typical preview is ready in under ten minutes.
No. We ask for an email address so we can send you your preview link, that's all. We automatically create a profile for you and email a password so you can return to view your collection.
Revisions happen after payment, not before. The preview shows you all 22 portraits we generated from your photos, that is the collection. If the preview doesn't move you, you walk away owing nothing. No re-generation step before payment, no "give us another go and we'll try again" loop. The preview is the work.
Once you've paid, the picture changes. If a specific portrait isn't getting your pet right, contact us and we'll re-render it. Likeness is the standard for paying customers, if we miss it, we fix it, no quibble.
Why this way around? Honesty. Pre-payment, we'd rather you decide on what we actually produced than commit to a series of "let me try once more" rounds and end up with something nobody really chose. Post-payment, you have our full attention.
Pricing
Five products, each drawn from the same gallery of portraits:
- Digital Pack · 22 Portraits, $49.99. All 22 portraits as high-resolution files, available within minutes of payment.
- Pack of 10 Greeting Cards, $29.99. Folded cards with envelopes, printed in your chosen scene.
- Wall Calendar, $44.99. 12-month wire-O wall calendar, printed and shipped.
- Digital Pack · 63 Portraits, $49.99. The complete extended library, every era we render, as high-resolution files.
- Hardcover Book, $52.99. 30-page premium hardcover keepsake, printed and shipped.
And one bundle, for customers who want the full keepsake set:
- The Keepsake Bundle, $104.99. Hardcover book + wall calendar + 22-portrait digital pack. The same three products bought individually total $147.97, so the bundle saves you almost $43 — and clears the free-shipping threshold.
Pricing is shown at checkout. No subscription, no recurring charges, no hidden fees. The preview is always free, you only pay if you love what you see.
There is no catch. The preview is free because we believe you should see your pet's portraits before spending money on them. It costs us real time and real compute to generate each one. We absorb that cost because we're confident in what we produce.
The model is simple: we create something beautiful, you see it, you decide. If you don't love it, you've lost nothing except the few minutes it took to upload your photos.
The idea of charging someone in advance for a portrait of their pet, before they've seen a single result, has never sat right with us.
Yes, and many customers do. A hardcover for the coffee table, a calendar for the kitchen wall, the digital pack for the lock screen. One project, every product.
If you want the full keepsake set in one go, The Keepsake Bundle ($104.99) wraps the hardcover, the wall calendar, and the 22-portrait digital pack together at a discount, almost $43 off the individual prices, with free worldwide shipping included.
You can also order additional copies of any product (extra hardcover for a parent, extra calendar for a friend) at any time after the original purchase.
None. This is a single purchase. You place an order, we make it, it arrives. Nothing is automatically renewed, nothing is billed monthly, no membership is required.
We find the idea of a subscription pet-portrait service somewhat troubling, and want to be explicit that this isn't that.
Delivery & Shipping
Digital downloads: within minutes of payment. A link arrives in your inbox; the files are yours immediately.
Physical products (hardcover book, wall calendar, greeting cards): 2-3 weeks from order to doorstep. This includes portrait finalisation, professional printing and binding, and shipping to your address.
We don't cut corners on print quality to make delivery faster. A keepsake like this should feel like something when you hold it. That requires time to do properly.
Once your order ships, you'll receive a tracking number. Most customers find the wait worthwhile, the arrival of something this considered has a different quality to overnight delivery of something disposable.
Yes. We ship worldwide. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times for your country are shown at checkout.
International orders typically add a few days to the estimated delivery window.
Contact us immediately. We'll either send a replacement or issue a full refund, whichever you prefer, no questions asked.
Everything is packaged to withstand standard shipping handling, but occasionally things go wrong in transit. When they do, the fix is straightforward.
Yes. At checkout you can enter a different shipping address from your billing address. The order will arrive at the recipient's address directly, no invoice or pricing information is included inside the package.
Guarantee & Quality
For paying customers, we'll remake it. If a portrait isn't capturing your pet the way it should, or a printed product arrives with a defect, contact us and we'll re-render or reprint the affected piece, no quibble. There's no cap on revisions, likeness is the standard and we'll keep working on it until we get there.
(If your preview doesn't move you and you haven't paid, simply walk away. No charge, nothing to refund, no explanation needed.)
Professional-grade across all of it. The book is a genuine hardcover, not a softcover wrapped to look like one, heavy paper, lay-flat binding, portraits with depth rather than lying flat on the page. The calendar is printed on weighted matte stock with proper wire-O binding. The greeting cards are folded on premium card with envelopes included. Colours are calibrated for print rather than being an afterthought of screen-optimised images.
We chose our print partner specifically for their quality, not their speed or cost. The physical object should feel commensurate with what it represents.
A fair question, and we'd rather you asked it than didn't.
The most honest evidence we can offer: you don't pay until you've seen your pet's portraits. If we were running a scam, we would charge you first and produce nothing. The entire model, free preview, pay only if you love it, is designed for a world where trust hasn't been established yet.
But more than any of that: the preview costs you nothing. See the portraits first. Then decide if you trust us.
All Animals Welcome
No. We have created portrait collections for dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, guinea pigs, birds, a particularly photogenic iguana, and one extremely dignified goldfish. If you loved them, we can create their portrait gallery.
The model is trained on your pet's specific photos, which means it works for any animal with enough visual detail in your photos for us to learn from. Some animals are harder than others, very small creatures, or animals with naturally limited facial variation, but we'll tell you honestly if we think the results won't reach our usual standard.
Every animal is welcome. Every animal deserves to be remembered beautifully.
Not yet, each collection focuses on a single pet so the portraits stay unmistakably theirs. You're very welcome to create a separate collection for each of your pets.
If you'd like advice on the best way to honour a household of animals, contact us before you upload and we'll talk it through.
